The First Person on Scene (FPOS) course is a comprehensive 5-day programme designed for individuals who may be the first responder in a medical emergency. The course builds on existing first aid knowledge and equips learners with the confidence and practical skills needed to manage critical situations effectively until professional medical help arrives.
Delivered by qualified instructors, the training combines hands-on exercises with real-life scenarios to develop life-saving skills across workplace, public, and operational environments.
WHAT YOU WILL MASTER
- Core life-saving first aid techniques for emergency response
- Assessing and managing critical situations safely
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
- Managing bleeding, shock, burns, fractures, and other injuries
- Care for unconscious casualties, including recovery position
- Incident documentation, reporting, and aftercare
- Legal responsibilities, duty of care, and professional conduct in first aid
