Course Overview

The Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness is being developed by IBAUK Awards to provide terrorism protection awareness for staff working in, or supporting, venues, sites and organisations. It is designed to help learners contribute to organisational preparedness, and supports staff to play an effective internal champion role by providing timely observations and information to the responsible person and/or colleagues with more formal counter-terrorism and protective security responsibilities. Delivered by experienced IBA instructors, the training combines classroom theory with practical scenario discussion to build confident, proportionate first-line responses.

What You Will Master

• Understanding the terrorism threat context
• Recognising common attack methods
• Understanding the key requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 at an awareness level
• Maintaining vigilance and reporting concerns appropriately
• Understanding immediate response actions
• Working with emergency services and organisational protocols
